JFK to Penn St station via subway

Hello,

Just after a bit advice for travelling from JFK to Penn St Station. Flying into jfk from london on sunday 3 may and will arrive at 11:30am.

Just want to know how easy/how to get to penn street by train as im guessing it will be a lot cheaper than getting a cab? Travelling across the US in May and trying to keep it to a budget, we%26#39;re staying at hotel 31 which doesnt seem that far from penn street to walk.

Thanks in advance

Take the airtrain to jamaica plain, and then get on subway, or even better take the LIRR train to PENN also available at jamaica station.

LIRR is a lot quicker, more comfortable and worth the extra couple of dollars.

Airtrain = $5 and LIRR = $5.50 (subway = $2)

Thanks for that, that should save me a few dollars

If you really want to ave money, you can take the A subway train all the way from JFK To Penn Station, it will only run you $2, but it%26#39;s a pretty long ride, well over an hour.

Don%26#39;t you still have to get the Airtrain to the A station?

I haven%26#39;t done it that way for a long time, as it takes FOREVER.

No, you can take the airport tram (free) to the Howard Beach subway stop.
