Nice hotels in theater distict

We going on an impromptu trip to New York on Jan 17th for two nights for my 12 rear old daughters birthday. She wants to see Mary Poppins. I%26#39;m looking for a nice hotel like The Palace Hotel relatively close to the theater district. The Palace said only four to a room and we have two adults and three children. She loves the grandness of the Palace. Their rates were only $280.00 per night so my budget would be less than $300.00 per night.

The first place that comes to mind is the Doubletree Suites on Times Square, but it lacks the ';grandness'; of the Palace. On the other hand, you can get a suite with two double beds and a sofa bed in the living room (and it%26#39;s within your budget).

Check out the London hotel. It%26#39;s all suites just north of Times Square and very trendy and elegant. It will likely be over $300 for 5 people. I don%26#39;t think it%26#39;s reasonable to hold to a Palace price that doesn%26#39;t accommodate your party. There are not that many hotels with rooms for 5. The Michelangelo which is nearby and more traditional might also have a suite that would work. Most rooms with 2 double or queen beds don%26#39;t have enough floor space for a roll away and/or fire codes prevent them from having that many in a room. You%26#39;re really limited to suites or getting 2 rooms. I also mentioned the AKA Times Square in your other thread.

There%26#39;s no real reason to stay in or near the theater district as long as you%26#39;re near a subway that goes to Times Square (heart of the theater district), and most if not all subway routes do. The subway is fast, safe, clean and will be fun for your daughter (my kids loved it the first few times they went on it)

You could even stay in Queens and be in Times Square in 20 min
