HI regulars and experts in the world of timeshares.
In my desperation to find a way to afford a NYC trip this year. I have stumbled upon a website:
www.bidholiday.co.uk that is offering a weeks accomodationin in the Manhatttan club or NY Central park Suites for 拢49. WE have to attend one of the sales meetings as part of the deal.
If it loooks to good to be true then it is.....
but
Has anyone heard of this?
I checked other forum topics (whizz you said the Manhattan club is lovely) is this still the case?
How high pressure will the sales meeting be? I have absolutely no intention of buying anything?
Do they leave you alone after the first meeting)(not that we are evr in the room anyway!!
Is this a legal regulated business in the US?
thanks all
Ross
The Manhattan Club
The most current review is pretty terrible.

A further down review states the place is undergoing change so I%26#39;m not sure what it will be like. I was always surprised that it shared a building with the Park Central Hotel and the Park Central part was not well maintained while the Manhattan Club was. I%26#39;m wondering if that%26#39;s changing.
I would wonder about a week%26#39;s stay for 49 gbp but maybe... I%26#39;d assume they will surely want some reassurance that you have the money to pay a timeshare.
There%26#39;s a website
tug2.net
for timeshare owners and potential owners. I don%26#39;t know if you have to pay to join or just register. I%26#39;d consider asking your question there.
The Manhattan Club
I%26#39;ve gone to that website and looked at the offer. It%26#39;s for several different properties and I%26#39;d worry that the one you want might not be available. If you%26#39;re interested in this, before purchasing, I%26#39;d contact the Manhattan Club and ask whether the dates you want would be available with this offer (or what dates are available).
Not that much at all, if under 25. I was invited to a presintation at the club for Marlins tickets at Shea. And when they found out that I was 22, they said that you had to be 25. I did get my tickets after arguing for about an hour.
I met a guy on my last trip who is a timeshare owner at the Manhattan Club and I%26#39;m pretty sure he told me he pays a bundle every year just for the fees, etc. He stays there for two weeks every year and it sounded VERY nice.
We get a lot of timeshare offers (not from there), and they are VERY clear that your income has to be above a certain level before they will give you the reduced rates on your stay - we have never done it because we do NOT enjoy the hard sell and time wasting. I%26#39;m not saying that your income is not at that level (whatever it is), but I believe they reserve the right to bump you to a higher rate if you can%26#39;t prove that you are at that level, and therefore a potential fish for them.
I had some friends that did it on an overnight program and they were put up at another property that was in bad shape, very bad
thanks for all the info, much appreciated
