Hi all, im going to NYC at end of jan and would like to see a basketball game, where is the best place to buy tickets on a limited budget?? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ticketmaster is the official seller. You are best off buying them there. There are a range of prices depending on where you sit. Select %26#39;will call%26#39; and just pick them up from the box office when you get there.

i agree we got ours from there....but if you can try and pick them up a good few hours before the game if you%26#39;re in the area of course - it can get rather busy.

We wanna go to the Knicks V Celtics game on Sunday but tickets seem to have sold out :-(

My friend said she got $10 tix outside MSG from a tout,so as naughty as that is I may be forced to do just that cos I fly home next Sat and I really wanna see another game before I go!

I%26#39;d advise you either get them from Ticketmster or just go to the booth yourself at MSG and get them before the game to avoid the crowds on the day.

www.travelzoo.com has had special offers for cheap tickets (usually a code to use when booking at the Ticketmaster site). This is for the Knicks, who I assume you are talking about. You can sign up to receive their email sent to you each week

Another option is the New Jersey Nets, they play in the Meadowlands Sports Complex in New Jersey, they are easy tickets to get.

A word of warning about buying from touts....we saw a family turned away with counterfit tickets.

If your game is not likely to be a sell-out I would advise buying through an exchange site or similar...only because tickermaster charge so many add-ons. We ordered ours through razorgator, worked out about $15 per ticket cheaper (I think we also used a discount code which got us free delivery). They dont ship to the uk so we sent them to our hotel. Because they use Fedex we could track the tickets so we knew exactly when they would arrive at the hotel (so we could call them). Incidently, they were delivered 14 hours after ordering them, and they came from Miami!!

If you want a few beers whilst in MSG you better start saving up.....$8.75 a pint!
