Restaurant near Astor Place Theatre (Blue Man Group)

We are taking our kids (age 15 and 11) to see the Blue Man Group on Fri. Jan 16. Can anyone recommend a few good restaurants near enough to walk to the theatre. They would probably prefer Italian, American, French -- nothing to adventurous. Need to eat before a 7 pm show.

In the alternative, restaurants in Rock Center area to eat before heading downtown. Kids want to skate in the afternoon. Thanks.

When you say %26#39;rock center%26#39; do you mean the rockefeller centre?

We went to the blue man group last week and found the area a bit deserted as far as tourists go - although a few restaurants have already been mentioned to be honest we didn%26#39;t see many. We ate in times square if i remember rightly that night and just jumped on the N, R or W subway but theres also the 6 route that takes you to the Astor Place area.

The actual street that the theater is on is not replete with restaurants, but it borders the East Village, which is probably the city%26#39;s best restaurant neighborhood.

A good choice for American/bistro food nearby is The Smith:
