Hotel Question

Trying to decide between the Radio City Apartments or the Edison Hotel. Can anyone recommend which one is better to stay at? Also another choice is the Holiday Inn Fifth Avenue which is more expensive. This is my first time to NY and would like a nice place to stay.

Hotel Question

i can%26#39;t really help much, i have heard good things about RCA, i had a friend stay at the Edison which she really enjoyed, espically the location as she%26#39;s really into theatre and said she could see the TKS Booths out her window, so could see when the queue was short to go grab sometimes!

have you checked out the reviews here on TA?

Hotel Question

You can%26#39;t go wrong with Radio City Apts.

RCA and the Edison are both budget hotels in old buildings. Since you come from CA, your idea of ';a nice place'; might not include either of these so why not tell us what%26#39;s important to you, when you%26#39;re coming and your budget. RCA is ';suites'; with kitchens near but not in Times Square while the Edison is a more traditional hotel right in Times Square. I would call both of them acceptable and good budget options but would honestly not call either ';nice.'; Sorry. The Holiday Inn Express is much newer and I%26#39;d say a better option, but it%26#39;s usually more expensive than I think it%26#39;s worth. If you%26#39;re coming in the next few months, have you checked offers on

travelzoo.com?

I%26#39;d also look at quikbook.com

I%26#39;m coming to NY in Oct for 1 night only. I%26#39;m looking for a decent hotel that is within walking distances to most of the sights or close to a subway. These two places looked ok to me, but not sure. I also like the Holiday Inn, but it is around $100 more to stay and not sure if its worth it?

For one night you cant fault the Edison, well I couldn%26#39;t fault it for 5! I love that location, rooms were clean, good size, its old and could do with a revamp but we got a good deal and staff were great

Now I remember. You%26#39;re coming for a cruise. I think it%26#39;s much too early to book something now for next October at a good rate. I think prices will come down and some hotels are not even accepting reservations that far in advance. What you%26#39;re seeing online are ';rack rates';. You also can%26#39;t be near most things because they%26#39;re spread out. You started by asking about a room under $400 and both of these should be well under that. If you want to book either RCA or the Edison, go ahead and then wait a while to see which better hotels drop prices. I wouldn%26#39;t pay $300 or more for the Holiday Inn.
