Westin Hotel Newport

HI all,

There is a new Westin hotel opening next year. I just wondered what the area is like as well as transportaion to Manhattan. Can the week metro pass be used here. to get us to manahttan. The address is

479 Washington Boulevard 路 Jersey City, New Jersey 07310 路

Accessibility to Manhattan is the most important factor. I don%26#39;t have issues with safety having been to NY on many occasions. Reading about it appears like it may be a corporate area with big business headquarters. I may be wrong.

I have never stayed at a Westin Hotel before, is that a higher end chain, what would be a comaparison,Marriot, Hilton, Days Inn!!

The metrocard that%26#39;s generally discussed here is for the NYC transit system which doesn%26#39;t cover New Jersey. You can buy another pass for the PATH train (the system that services Jersey City to NYC).

There%26#39;s already a very nice Hyatt in Jersey City and a Courtyard and Doubltree club that are closer I think to this Westin.

There%26#39;s also a new W hotel opening in Hoboken which is near Jersey City. I don%26#39;t know if this is it or yet another one. Yes Westin%26#39;s tend to be very nice, certainly better than a Days Inn and as nice or nicer than the best Hiltons or Marriotts.

I suggest you use Google earth to have a look at the area and the relative distances b/w NYC and these various hotels.
