Double decker hop on bus tour

Would anyone recommend this tour as it cost $50 for a 48 hour ticket? Is it worth it or are there cheaper ways to see NYC.

Double decker hop on bus tour

Although we have now been to nyc 3 times and tend to use the subway to get around,Personally,i think the bus tour is worth it myself, the tour guides are full of information on the grey line tours,

I think we payed about $90 each for a 72 hour ticket,

got admission to totr, the ferry to liberty/ellis island, united nations building, seaport,

Other people may think different but for me a great way to see the city,

Have a look at this New York Times article, Hop On Hop Off, Just the way the Natives Do.

This is a very good NY Times article and it is an excellent way to see things for significantly less money.

We can help you if you have questions.

Just a thought.

Happy Planning...

It depends on the time of year you%26#39;re coming. Those buses are open on top and can get very cold and windy in bad weather. If you%26#39;re people who like a tour, in winter I think

is a better option despite not being hop on/off. If you%26#39;re not tour people, just use public transit to get from point a to point b. Using the ho/ho is not cost effective as transportation.

Honestly I wouldn%26#39;t do it if cost is any sort of issue. NYC has one of the most insanely easy to navigate subways in the world. All the street are number start at one end of the island and go up, or at the other and go down.

All you will need for touristy stuff is the ';N line';..it will take you walking distance to anywhere.

Buy a 1 Funpass for the Subway. It will let you have unlimited rides for $7.00 and is good until 2AM.

They are available at the Information centers in Times Square. They are not advertised well.. You have to ask for them. You can also buy one good for 7 days for $25 depending on how long you are staying.

Get a little foldable postcard sized subway map and you are all set.

Just back from NYC. I think the Hop on/off bus is a not bad value particualrly for first time travellers to NYC, older people etc. Having said that we have been several times before and still did it this time.

You get 48 hrs of hop on/off, a night tour, plus boat cruise. Many of the red buses and i think all of the blue (we did the red, did the Blue once and did not like it that much) have a roof covering the top now (some partial, some full some no top

The boat cruise was very good (we did the 1 hr)

The bus guides are a very very mixed bunch- a few very good, and some really terrible ones.

any questions please ask

I agree for pure transportation they are not the way to go. But I like to see where I am going and the sites outside sometimes 9we do use the subway and taxis too)

I am from NJ which is 40 minutes from nyc and I thought the bus tour was great. You get great information that you would not find on your own.

You are able to hop on and off at your will..No figuring out subway systems I went in the winter and found it just fine.

Think it is totally worth it
