Hi, I am also looking into buying the 3 day New York City Pass - would you recommend it?
New York City Pass - would you recommend?
Generally no. You wind up running around the chicken without a head trying to get everything in in 3 days and may wind up going/seeing things you would not otherwise see w/o the pass. But really the way to determine if it makes sense for YOU is to list the things you definitely want to see and the cost if they were bought separately. Then compare that to the cost of the pass. If you%26#39;re a family, it%26#39;s really expensive for passes for everyone.
New York City Pass - would you recommend?
That%26#39;s really good advice - thanks very much
nywhz is right on with the advice. I bought the Vegas pass when I was there but by doing exactly that. I added up all that I wanted to see and do and found it to be more convenient and cheaper than paying at each venue. I would not have bothered if it had not been the right price. I had a 3 day pass and I planned my days to get the best value for money. New York is very different and you might find it doesn%26#39;t work as well there as my experience in Vegas. What it did let me do, was let me see some things I would not have seen, if I had to pay for them. So for me I got into a lot of places I would have skipped and for that it was great value for money.

The Explorer Passes are on sale ($15%) discount through Thursday, January 8. You pick whether you wish to purchase a 3, 5 or 7-attraction pass and pick which you wish to see; it%26#39;s good for 7 days from the first use.
The list of options isn%26#39;t exhaustive, but it does include some highly regarded sights/activities that are not offered by either City Pass or New York Pass: Top of the Rock, the excellent Ground Zero Museum Workshop, New York Waterway%26#39;s harbor cruise.
I%26#39;m buying several of the 3-attraction Explorer passes myself for out-of-town friends who are arriving on Friday. Not an appreciable savings, but hey, every little bit helps in these harsh times.
No. I have never bought a New York City pass, but everytime I have bought one in other cities I have found myself rushing from one place to the next, not seeing attractions propertly or in geographical order (i.e. I end returning to the museum`s neighborhood days later when the pass has expired rather than covering it before/after the museum.) I end up exhausted with attraction/culture overload. Only saving a couple $$$ (if any) and any time saved from ticket lines is lost in commuting.
I just like to see one attraction / day and enjoy the surroundings so I am not the ideal candidate for city passes but if you want to pack your days with attractions, then it`s definitely a good deal!

Definitely not!!! We just returned from NYC and thought the pass was a waste of money!! We bought it right when we booked the trip because we were gonna do the ESB twice and Ellis Island and several of the museums! The NBC Studio tour was on our list and it was sold out the whole time we were there! Don%26#39;t waste your money!!!!
littlejo239-When are you going to NYC? I can send you one of the books that came with our pass! I think having the pass makes you feel pressured to do more than you truly have time for! I wouldn%26#39;t recommend it, but I will be happy to send you the book!
Hi WpgBanker,
I am also going to Vegas as part of my trip - I hadn%26#39;t condsidered buying a pass here? Which one did you get - sounds worthwhile.
Thanks
