Indian Food in Lower East Side

Any recommendations for Indian restaurants on the Lower East side?

The LES doesn%26#39;t really have much in the way of Indian restaurants, but if you walk north into the East Village, there are many. I like Brick Lane:

The ';famous'; place from Sx and the City is Panna II.

I always liked Haveli, but I haven%26#39;t been in a gazillion years.

Here%26#39;s a good summary of those E. 6th Street Indian places:

thanks. I will be staying at the Thompson LES on Allen Street-is this far from the East village?

An easy 15 minute walk, tops.

Looks like you need a map.

To measure distances, you can use:

www.maps.google.com

www.hopstop.com

You can also get cheap or free maps from a variety of sources online. When will you be here?

My favorites are both in the East Village. I love Haveli on Second Avenue. We had our pre-wedding dinner there. I also like Mitali on mid block 6th St.
