for those who love trains or nostalgia the historic subway rides are back again this month. It%26#39;s a wonderful look back in time at these trains.

Brenna,
Thanks for the info! I will try to fit one of these rides into our upcoming trip.
In addition, does anyone have any info regarding abandoned stations that may be easy to see when using the subway.

Chipper - hmmm? abandoned stations - sounds like you are looking for cheap lodging and don%26#39;t want to violate the housing laws by atempting to rent an apartment.
So, was I right - and how much is that wicker going for now - is a nickel bag still a nickel?
Abandoned stations: Keep an eye out for the shell of 18th Street on the #6 line and 91st Street on the #1 line.
Thanks for the info! I found this site which also has a lot.

Buses too, I heard on NY1 last night, some old time 5th avenue double deckers.
That%26#39;s really cool! I saw the ads for it in the stations, but it was so vague and didn%26#39;t say which line and when. Queens Plaza is a short bus ride from me, so I%26#39;ll be sure to check it out. I love all that vintage stuff :-)
I happened to ride on 5 cars from the 1930s, it was great. Those trains are LOUD! I guess because there%26#39;s no door at the end of each car. You can just imagine how loud it was going through the tunnel into Manhattan from Queens.
I tried again a couple weekends ago, but no train showed up, weird. We had been waiting a half hour so, so we figured we%26#39;d just go on another train. We had seen it a couple weekends before, so not a big deal missing it.
I can%26#39;t wait to see them again next year.
