My mother and I are hoping to come to New york in April. My mother, however, would like her own bedroom and for that reason, I have been looking at b%26amp;bs etc. A friend told me about ';City Lights'; and I have received some information from them about accommodation. It seems very nice but my question is, are these accommodations legitimate? I know this question surfaces time and time again and I have read the posts on this but I haven%26#39;t come across anything about city lights. Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

I don%26#39;t understand this reasoning. You don%26#39;t need a b %26amp; b or worse still, an apt. to get 2 bedrooms. It%26#39;s simple to book 2 rooms at a hotel. If you mean you%26#39;d like a 2 bedroom suite sharing one bathroom, that%26#39;s also available in a hotel. A few years ago we had some people reporting on using citylightsbandb.com for hosted apartments (you rent a bedroom in someone%26#39;s apartment) but for what you want, a hotel is a better safer option.
Best Western Hospitality is one hotel that has 2 bedroom suites and I think includes breakfast. Several of the Affinia hotels have 2 bedroom suites.
Eastgate Tower is usually the most affordable.
If you want a b %26amp; b, they all have their own websites and you don%26#39;t have to go through City Lights.
1871house.com
is one where some of the bedrooms can be combined.
Depending on how long you%26#39;re visiting, probably the cheapest option would be to bid on 2 rooms on Priceline so you%26#39;d each have your own space.
City LightsPS Forgot to mention
radiocityapartments.com
is one of the most popular budget hotels in NYC and they have some 2 bedroom suites. You might want to phone them as they don%26#39;t always come up as an option on the website for just 2 people.
Thank you for the information. I was actually looking at either Radio City Apartments or a Hotel but I%26#39;d never heard of City Lights before and when someone mentioned it, I decided to take a look. However, I%26#39;d far rather pay extra than run foul of any laws. So, once again, many thanks.
