Hello! I%26#39;m a solo traveler and I usually stay at RCA but I have just received an offer from Quickbook.com quoting a special rate for the Flatotel ($171 plus taxes/per night) for the month of March. This means a savings of approximately $45 and the possibility to try a new hotel in N.Y. Do you think I should change my reservation and try the Flatotel? By the way, do you if there%26#39;s a supermarket near the Flatotel? Thank you.
Flatotel vs Radio City Apartments
There are dozens of hotels running specials thru March that would be a nice way to stay something nicer than RCA. Look on
travelzoo.com
quikbook.com
On travelzoo, Millenium Broadway at $169 (if your dates are right), the Westin for $189
on quikbook
the Michelangelo for $163; the Dylan for $135 and the Affinia 50 for $150-both in midtown east, On the Ave for $97!! My friend just stayed there in a room with king bed. While the room is pretty small, it%26#39;s quite nice with flat screen tv in the great area of the upper west side.
Bottom line is you can definitely get a nicer hotel than RCA for less money. I%26#39;d go for any of the options I listed above before the Flatotel and you%26#39;d save even more money.
Flatotel vs Radio City Apartments
Thanks a lot for your information. I plan to be in N.Y. from March 3rd to March 9th. The reason why I chose RCA is because it has a microwave and a refrigerator and I prefer to have breakfast and dinner at the apartment. I also like the Midtown West area and both are located near the Theater District. I%26#39;m open to any suggestions. Thanks again.
I don%26#39;t think you%26#39;ll find a microwave at the Flatotel so we%26#39;re not comparing apples to apples. By limiting yourself to one area you%26#39;re limiting your options. If you%26#39;re planning to do a lot of theater,
I understand wanting that Times Square location. Otherwise, I don%26#39;t frankly.
The only one of the Affinia hotels in midtown west is the Affinia Manhattan. A studio apt. there with kitchen is $149/night on their special 9 day sale which must be booked by Jan. 13. This hotel is near Penn station so not as close to theaters. The Affinia Dumont is nicer/newer in midtown east and a suite there with kitchen is $169-179/night for your dates.
On quikbook.com there%26#39;s a rate of $157/night for a ';guest room'; at Affinia 50 (midtown east and also very nice) which supposedly has a kitchenette. I%26#39;d confirm that before booking though. I know they have suites with kitchens. Just not sure if a ';guest room'; does.
To find out about supermarkets (or anything else) near a particular hotel, map the hotel on
maps.google.com
and then use the search nearby function for supermarket or deli or restaurant or whatever.
Thank for your valuable assistance.
