Hotel Promotions for 3 nights in Feb March

Going to NYC with my 17 year old daughterand need 3 nights hotel. I believe there are some good hotel promotions happening in NYC during this time. I would like to be central. Looking for decent hotel in a safe area. What hotels are having good promotions, any specific sites that you recommend? I read some recommendations for Quikbook, should I trust this site?

Also, we%26#39;re flying out of Newark at 11:00 on a MOnday a.m. Should we hire a car or take the Airtran to avoid potential traffic.

Thanks

You could always find someone who had bad experiences with Quikbook but I am not one of them and you rarely find someone on this forum who has had a bad experience. You have to make up your mind around 3 days before leaving because you have to cancel if you don%26#39;t want to leave and there is no penalty involved usually....always read the fine print!

You should be able to find a nice hotel because there are many specials on travelzoo for those dates. There is also a sale on Quikbook if you book before tomorrow 5 PM.

If you%26#39;d like to tell us what you plan to do, we might be able to give you more specific advice on which hotels would be in the best location for your plans. If you plan to see theater, the Millenium Broadway for $169 on Travelzoo is a very good deal.

All the hotels on the travelzoo.com page right now are good with the exception of the Milford Plaza which is not that nice.

As for getting to the airport, you should be at the airport I%26#39;d guess by 9:30. If you leave NYC at 8:15, you should be fine however you decide to travel. There are pros and cons to each travel option.

Hotel Giraffe is having a 72 hour sale and today is the last day it is available. Receive 25% off on any stay in January, February or March. It is located on 26th Street and Park Avenue and is 2 blocks away from the 6 train. As far as getting to Newark, I recommend either a cab, which will run you about $70-80 (not including tip or tolls), or a car service which will run you about $120 (including tax and tolls). Since you are leaving NY, there is not much traffic going in that direction.

Thanks for the responses

we%26#39;re planning to do the tourist stuff (Times Square, Rockefeller, Empire, etc), catch a show or 2 and shopping. She%26#39;ll want to see the stores on fifth, etc. It%26#39;s her first time and it%26#39;s been 20 years since I have been. Would love it to be safe area with some reasonably priced restaurants. Easy walking access and close to transportation. She%26#39;s 17 and it%26#39;s her birthday present from me.

I looked at some of the budget hotels but if there is a good promotion happening for some of the better hotels at the same price then I think that will work better. Thinking close to Time Square area but heard it%26#39;s noisy, so close walking distance is good.

Thanks again.
