we leave for NYC on Friday we are so excited ,we are mum and daughter 59 ! and 35 ,we are going to have fun ,sit and talk ,walk over Brooklyn bridge and just enjoy being in New york and being together ,no kids no husbands!!!
Staying at Washington square wanted to be in the village.
People have asked us to get stuff ,we have just said sorry we are not shopping ,just going for us ,being selfish !!!!

Have a great time. AND NO!!! you are not being selfish. This is YOUR vacation and unless you want to make believe you are personal shoppers there is no reason to shop for others. Of course, there are those appropriate gifts but that is different.
I travel back and forth to Israel. For good friends I bring things from the US. But, when an acquaintance called one year and asked me to bring 2 volumes of a really heavy set of books, I politely told her I didn%26#39;t have room. ( all the time thinking--some nerve!!!)

My only daughter moved out of home a few days ago and I%26#39;m missing her terribly:(
yes I missed Claire so much when she moved out err 15 or so years ago ,but you build a different relationship .
We have been to NY together twice before once while she was still at home ,and once since, it is our special place .
In the past I have come back weighed down with jeans and trainers ,now its just a gift for family.
someone asked Claire for Uggs and the special box .
so thats one suitcase full .no no no .
WE have tickets for Chicago ,so should all be fun .
