information center in New York

A group of us will be coming to New York in April for an electricians hockey tournament.I don%26#39;t know yet which hotel we%26#39;re staying in, but I believe it is in New Jersey.I would like the website for a tourist information center so I can get maps etc.mailed to me to look at before we go.This will also make it easier to locate places people talk about in this forum. Thanks!

If you do a search on here for ';maps,'; you%26#39;ll find many links to good maps of the city that you can print out. You can print out the entire NYC guide, full of maps, from the Not For Tourists group here, for instance:

And the official tourism office is

Thank you for those suggestions.I%26#39;ll look at both of them.I%26#39;m looking forward to visiting New York!

Staying in New Jersey for visiting NYC is a drag. Consider doing your own thing. There%26#39;s a tourist info center in Times square

nycvisit.com

is a good website to check before your trip.

An update I can provide because I schlepped up there on my lunch hour today in the hopes of scooping up maps, etc. for my soon-arriving guests: the 7th Avenue storefront information center operated by the NYC Visitors %26amp; Convention Bureau is presently closed for renovations.

But here%26#39;s the page with addresses %26amp; hours for the satellite kiosks:

Oops, didn%26#39;t realize that I was duplicating a link nywhiz had already posted.
