hi just wondering if anyone has been to the bar, whats it like / and the area surrounding it?, going for st patricks staying right beside it
landmark tavern area 11th avenue
Once upon a time the area was somewhat of a wasteland with storage buildings and a few car dealerships dotted around. Slowly the area is being gentrified due to several new high rise apartment buildings nearby. It%26#39;s still looks quite different from the rest of midtown Manhattan with mostly low buildings and services like a car wash that you wont%26#39; find elsewhere. Don%26#39;t expect anything posh.
I haven%26#39;t eaten at the Landmark in some time. They used to do great burgers and a good brunch(and the rest wasn%26#39;t so great). Recent reviews suggest food has gotten a lot better and it would be a fun place on St. Paddy%26#39;s day I think.
It%26#39;s an old historic place with a lot of dark wood. Has a nice feel.

Have you read the FAQ page on vacation apartment rentals? It%26#39;s not a great idea. Read all about why here:

I agree with Crans. Don%26#39;t like the idea of staying over the bar, especially with a 9 yr old. This is a bad idea. Not appropriate. Get a hotel room.
If you are staying in an apartment, assuming it even esists 9in no way a safe assumption as scams are rampant), it is almost assuredly an illegal rental. Do you really want to be involved, or involve children in an illegal activity. Get a hotel room, there are hundreds of hotels in NYC for that very reason.
